Merino Wool Boots

Who doesn’t know the desperate search for the right shoe for those in-between seasons? Actually, the answer’s more simple than you might think: Chelsea Boots! These casual boots are an all-season all-star—they go great with pants, skirts and dresses. Plus, the best part: with our Merino Wool Boots, you’ll never have to sacrifice warm feet for a cool outfit.

What are Chelsea Boots?

Chelsea Boots are ankle boots with two elastic side panels. They also have a pull tab on the back, which makes it easy to take them on and off. The classic models have a low heel and rounded toes.

The history of the Chelsea Boot

Chelsea Boots were originally designed for men—and were also designed by a man. In 1830, a man named J.S. Hall (who was the shoemaker for Queen Victoria) designed what is today the Chelsea Boot in—you guessed it—Chelsea, London. The boots’ classic lateral elastic sections were, at the time, an innovation. Finally, boot-wearers could do away with the tedious process of lacing up. The boots were especially beloved by hunters; with their pull tab on the back, Chelsea Boots were easy to slip on and off compared to traditional boots. Then, in the 1960’s, Chelsea Boots hit the big stage. The Beatles—John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and George Harrison—wore the “Beatle Boots” to their concerts, which were Chelsea Boots with a pointed toe and higher heel section. By this point in the ’60’s, everyone wanted a pair of stylish Chelsea Boots for themselves.

Here are 5 great ways to style your Chelsea Boots

Classic, girly or punk: no matter your style or mood, our Chelsea Boots are extremely versatile and go great with almost every outfit. Here are 5 different ideas to inspire your style!

#1 Boots & Shorts

Our Chelsea Boots look amazing with a pair of casual shorts. But don’t be fooled: shorts aren’t just for summer! Opt for a pair of black, semi-transparent tights under some cool shorts and combine them with a pair of our Merino Wool Chelsea Boots—they look especially cool and vintage in our “Sandmelé” color.

#2 Classic and Cheerful

What’s an absolute must when it comes to an everyday look? A comfortable pair of jeans. Pair your favorite pants with a cozy sweater, a warm jacket, a cute pom-pom hat and black Merino Wool Boots. Boom: your chic, casual style is ready to go.

#3 Not all jeans are created equal

A tip: when pairing your Merino Wool Boots with jeans, your pants shouldn’t be too long—and shouldn’t be worn over the boots. It’s best to opt either for skinny jeans worn inside the boots, or to roll them up just over the boots’ top. For an even cooler look, go for jeans with an asymmetrical or fringed hem.

#4 Want to go punk?

Dark ripped jeans, a leather jacket, a t-shirt, and Chelsea Boots: that’s all you need for a rocking punk look. If you want to add a feminine touch, opt for a flattering mini-skirt instead of jeans.

#5 Put some extra pep in your step

Do you tend towards wearing colors that aren’t too eye-catching? A good way to add some pizzaz to your neutral outfits is by choosing a statement necklace or stylish bag. Plus, for bad hair days, a cool hat is a great way to go. And of course, our Merino Wool Chelsea Boots will look fab with any combination of accessories.
